So, the influx of autumnal content has well and truly begun, hasn’t it? Now, you’re reading the blog of someone who is equally as infatuated with the season as the rest of the internet. I love the warm cosy colours, I love the opportunity to make apple pies and pumpkin spice and the sight of my breath in the air. A friend of mine once said we all have a season that suits us, whether the colours flatter us, the weather works with our bodies, or the celebrations of the season fit in with our family dynamic best, we all have a season. It probably comes as no surprise that a redhead (strawberry blonde, whatever you want to call it) with a penchant for mustard coloured jumpers falls comfortably into the autumn category and I have happily embraced it.
Why does the internet love autumn so much? Is it because we are all over-grown teenagers who desperately cling on to that Back to School feeling of September being a sign of new beginnings? Do we love the respite of crisp air versus the heady, sweaty nights of summer? Do we seek the cosy reassurance of the autumn leaves, or the sensory overload of their crunch underfoot? Do we adore the built in excuse of being able to stay inside, the removal of guilt at wanting to bundle under a blanket and watch tv? All of the above?
With this enthusiasm I’ve been creating a few bits and pieces on Pinterest that I wanted to share on here. A couple of phone backgrounds, colour palette and suggeted autumnal activities for your life IRL and your instagram persona. I’ve enjoyed putting these little pieces together, and I hope you’ll find them aesthetically pleasing and perhaps a little bit useful when living your best autumnal days.
