This month has been full of festive cheer and of course, plenty of sweet treats. The cold weather is counteracted by the bright Christmas lights and all the spicy scented candles and of course, seeing your family and friends. So what have my favourite things been throughout December?
This unassuming white bath bomb has a fresh floral fragrance but inside magic awaits you! Whilst the bath bomb fizzes a pure white the entire time, the bath starts turning a deep rosy pink and the scent fills the entire room. Plus, this bath bomb lasted an insane amount of time in my tub. I’m never sure how much water quality and temperature affects the length of time a Lush bath bomb takes to dissolve but this one lasted almost a full ten minutes!
Of course no good lifestyle blog would be complete without a favourite candle of the month and December is a time to crack out the Yankee candle holiday scents. I absolutely love the more woody fragrances but there’s something so sweet and cheeky about Christmas Treats that makes it my favourite naughty but nice candle.
Characteristically late to the bandwagon, I caught up with all of Serial just in time for the finale episode this month and found myself utterly hooked. Of course the most compelling aspect of this podcast is that it is an entirely true murder case, being poured over by a Baltimore journalist, some 15 years after the original trial. If you find Louis Theroux documentaries interesting, this podcast is definitely for you. It is a fascinating insight into how a trial works, and the ways in which evidence can be used and interpreted.
This is a late addition to the favourites list as I got this slanket on the 25th December but by golly has it been a welcome addition to my collection of cosy clothing. With it’s fairisle festive print, and SLEEVES this fluffy wonder has been a great cuddling pal on these freezing winter nights.
I’ve been jamming at my desk like nobody’s business to this song, and have even attempted to learn the full dance routine, just for added effect. It’s a great funk pop number from Mark Ronson with the added vitality of including Bruno Mars and his slick vocals. It’s a great tune with a fun beat behind it and it’s bound to be popping up on every radio station you can think of in 2015.
You may have read my earlier blog post on this little beauty a few weeks ago and this month this collection came into its own. With a blusher, bronzer and highlighter in shades designed to complement your skin tone (available in fair, light, medium and dark) this provides the amateur make up user with everything they could need. The great thing about Sleek products is the high quality and pigmentation of them, at affordable high street prices. It’s definitely given me more confidence to play with contouring and make up this festive season!
