Christmas Reads

I love a good trashy novel. One that is shamelessly romantic; has little to no profound life affirming message within it and is just a great read for the train, plane or automobile you might find yourself travelling in. This time of year is great for those books, with hundreds of festive reads to get you in the Christmas spirit. So if you can stomach Love Actually and you fancy cosying up with a book and a mince pie this December, these reads are definitely for you!

Let It Snow John Green

Let It Snow – John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle

Just because a book is classed as Young Adult Fiction, don’t be put off. I mean you’ve all read The Fault in Our Stars by now haven’t you? This book follows the intertwined stories of three teenagers on a fateful winter night, when a huge snowstorm causes them each to be stranded within feet of each other. Their tales interlock and romance ensues (of course) but never does this become a sickly sweet story. With John Green’s characteristic witty leads and Maureen Johnson’s effortlessly chatty writing style you’ll probably plough through this book, look outside and wonder where all the snow has gone.

Billy and Me

Christmas with Billy & Me – Giovanna Fletcher

After the success of her debut novel, Giovanna Fletcher provides fans with a brief glimpse back into the world of Billy and Sophie in this novella. It’s festive and full of romance, just as the full original book was. It’s fun, a quick and easy read and at only 99p it’s a cheap and cheerful way to bring some Christmas cheer to your commute! I really loved this little insight into Billy and Sophie May’s lives and of course, the romance of Christmas is hard to resist!

New York Christmas Book

Fairytale of New York – Miranda Dickinson

Whilst not initially the most Christmassy book this romantic read contains all the twists and turns you’d want from a festive novel and is set against the glittering backdrop of New York City. If you’re not lucky enough to live in the city that never sleeps, this book can provide you with that little escape into the big apple with some great festive scenes to keep you in that Christmas mood.

Winter Wonderland – Belinda Jones

This is an absolute classic Christmas book, by an author whose writing always captures such likeable characters. With tall, dark and handsome men, snow and ice palaces this book will definitely get you in the mood for a winter romance!
