When you have acne you are often faced with a barrage of supposedly helpful advice, insults and patronising attempts to compliment you (when I was 14 a relative stared at me for a long time before announcing to my mother, “at least her teeth seem quite nice!”). So how you do survive spots?
When people tell you a dairy free diet would clear your skin.
When someone tries to compliment you but avoids anything to do with your face.
When kids in skin care commercials moan about the one invisible spot on their nose.
When you stand at the “problem skin” section of Boots for half an hour trying to guess which product might work.
When your friend moans about how bad their perfect skin is.
When you just want to hide from the world.
When you look in the mirror after a spot squeezing session and say to yourself…
